• A family of churches

Anthem Camarillo is part a family of churches helping people find their way back to God. The Anthem family of churches is united around shared mission, vision, values, and submission to the Lordship of King Jesus. In our cities, we are working to obey Jesus in helping people find their way back to God.

  • Often we feel like there is not enough time to be in the word daily. We want to equip you with tools to daily engage with God in his Word. We also want to do this as a community! Community Bible Reading (CBR) is not so much a sprint through the Bible but a way to create a daily rhythm in God's word. Download the 2021 plan below!

It's a great time to join a Community Group! Community groups meet together each week for discussion from the Scriptures, prayer, and connection.

You can check out the days and times of our groups below. When your request to join a group you will be reached out to by one of the Community Group Leaders.

Wild Wonder Creation Care Camp

What: Wild Wonder Creation Care Camp

When: July 25-29, 8:45am-12:15pm

Who: Kids TK-4th grade and friends

Where: Nancy Bush Park / Camarillo

Why: The wonder we feel when we look at something beautiful leads us to care for it. In the same vein, we value and care for the things we know, so there is an emphasis in Year Two on getting to know our specific place and learning the names of the birds, the plants, and the people that are local to us. Christian creation care is also hopeful. It allows us to ask the question, “How might I bless creation? How might I bless the Lord?” Year Two is all about exploring hopeful ways to care for creation while also discovering how deeply the Father cares for us.

If you are new to Wild Wonder, don't worry! Your child does not need to have attended Year 1 to delight in Year 2.

Cost: $30 per child / $90 family cap (please contact Lauren Amaro at amaro.lauren@gmail.com if your family needs a scholarship for camp)

update from

Costa Rica Trip

Well, the trip didn’t exactly start out as planned. But honestly, it wasn’t all that surprising. Our theme for the week was Puedo confiar en Dios pase lo que pase, I can trust in God no matter. That was put to the test right away.

Thankfully our team had an incredible attitude and never complained, or if they did they kept it to themselves. Believe me, there was plenty to complain about since it took us more than 30 hrs to get to Costa Rica from LAX. Though the travel was quite a headache, we were so excited to see what God was going to do with our team through the time.

Once in Costa Rica, I think we would all agree how blessed we were to work along side Hope Partners. I can’t say we saw God move in power like never before or we got to see crazy things in the world, but we did get to see how God uses the ordinary to do extraordinary things, how faithful followers of Jesus working little by little over the last 10 years is making a huge impact in one of the worst slums of Costa Rica. Pavas, Costa Rica is a 1 square mile slum with 60 thousand people in it. Hope Partners knows that they can’t reach everyone in that area, but they can make a difference. They are aware of their limitations and that God is limitless. Their faith in His promises and the hope they want to share with the people in Pavas is remarkable. Right now the center serves 484 meals a day and works with 198 families.

We spent the first half of the day painting the outside walls of the Center and cleaning up a few spaces inside. The Center believes that hope sometimes needs to be seen, so they have a huge desire to bring beauty into the city. The teams that come during the summer are a huge part of that. The staff doesn’t have the capacity during the rest of the year to work on most of the projects so using the teams in the summer has been extremely helpful. In the afternoons, we spent the time loving on a group of 30-40 first and second graders. We got to know them by name and loved on them through being wild and crazy and sharing about how they can trust in Jesus no matter what. Many of the murals the Center has painted throughout the city and on the Hope Center walls, inside and out, say “eres importante” (you are important). We got to help show these kids that they are important. That they matter. That they are seen and loved by a wonderful savior who loves them, knows them, and sees them right where they are at.

We are excited to continue our friendship with Hope Partners Costa Rica and to send more teams from our church next year and beyond. Thank you for praying for us while we were gone. We couldn’t have done this trip without your prayers and support. Thank you!

Our Vision

Our vision is to bring a movement of reproducing churches empowered by the Gospel of Jesus to love and serve southern California. Our dream for the future is not that one church be built up, but that Anthem would be a part of a reproducing church movement throughout the world. To do this, we believe that the culture of Anthem must be centered around not just doing the work of the Gospel, but reproducing the work of the Gospel.

Our Mission

Our mission is to Help people find their way back to God. God created us to be in perfect relationship with Him. Sin caused that relationship to be broken, and has caused us to stray away from Him. Wherever we are currently at in our relationship with God, whether we are Christ-followers or not, we need to continue to find our way back to a perfect relationship with Him.

We have the opportunity to partner with ACTION VC for their county wide event LOVE VC this summer. We will be serving a local community, Casa del Norte Mobile Home park by doing outdoor projects including yard work and window washing.

This morning is open to all ages. Everyone who plans to attend must fill out a volunteer waiver.

We will be there from 8:30am-12:30pm, but would love for people to join for any amount of time.

WHEN: Saturday, June 10th

We are returning to Casa Del Norte Mobile Home Community to complete the projects for their residents. Join us July 15th or August 12th.

Midyear

Financial Update

At our Annual Family Meeting in February, we shared where we were at as a church from a financial standpoint. In 2022, we took a pretty severe hit and we knew that we needed to make some adjustments to our budget and prayerfully pursue an increase in giving and a decrease in spending.

We wanted to be more intentional this year keeping our finances as a church in front of us. As an elder team, we desire to be accountable and follow through with what we communicated. So here is our mid year financial check in.

We have made adjustments to spending and we are much closer to budget than we have been in the past. Here are some numbers to help show where we’ve been and where we are.

  • 2022 Monthly Averages

Last year average monthly income $28,161.98

Last year average monthly expenses $32,827.95

Last year average monthly loss $4,665.97

  • 2023 Monthly Averages

    Six month average income $27,396.67

    Six month average expenses $30,155

    Six month average loss $1,821

The main improvement we’ve seen as a church is an adjustment on our spending. Last year our average expenses were close to 33,000 a month, and this year we are right around 30,000 a month. Staff and elders are working hard to keep spending down. As you can see from the figures above our 7 month average income is about the same as it was last year.

This upcoming year there will be an increase in our rent at the Boys and Girls Club. We have not seen an increase from the Club in a long time. However, we knew that when the club completed their addition there would eventually be a rent increase. We do not know the final number yet, but we anticipate that it will be substantial. Additionally cost of living is high, and we would love to give our staff an increase to keep up with the cost of living which we were unable to do in the previous years.

As a church, even though we are tight financially, we are continuing to practice faithful giving as we give away 10% of everything that comes in. Through your generosity we are helping support the following: our friends in East Asia and the incredible work they are doing there, Anthony Naimo at Hope Partners International as they continue to help bring the whole gospel to some of the most vulnerable people around the globe, Genesis Collective as they help to equip and plant gospel centered churches around the globe, EFCA as they help equip and start churches nationwide, Anthem Denver as they continue to grow as a church plant in Denver, Co., and finally local generosity to help bless people in need here in Ventura County.

We are so grateful for your generosity and we want to continue to grow to be the church God has called us to be here in Ventura County. We are so grateful for our church family and the impact we are making in this city, so there is no reservation in inviting you to keep growing as disciples of Jesus in all areas of life including giving.

If you are already practicing giving on a regular basis at Anthem we want to say well done, thank you, and keep going! If you haven’t, or if you’ve taken a break we want to invite you into the discipline of regular giving. God doesn’t have a money problem, but we have a tendency, whether we like it or not, to begin to hold on. I believe God gave us the discipline of giving as a gift to us, to help our hearts regularly be divorced from the love of money. If you’d like to join us in regular giving you can do that through our app, on our website, or there is an offering box in the back of our main gathering space.

What can you do?

1. We invite you to pray alongside our elder team that the Lord would continue to provide financially.

2. If you haven’t started giving regularly, we invite you to start.

3. If you have put a pause on your giving or stopped, we invite you to re-engage in the discipline of regular giving.

4. If you are regularly giving, we invite you to prayerfully consider increasing your giving during this season where there is need.

If you would like to give there is a link below in which you can easily setup your giving.

If you have any questions about giving or if you are finding yourself under financial hardship we would love to talk with you and see if there is anything we could do to help. You can contact our elder team through the link below.
